Connecting innovation ambition across a global organization.

Helping shape a shared innovation vision across global priorities, regional capabilities, and commercial responsibility.

The strategic question

A global organization can contain substantial innovation activity while still finding it difficult to turn that activity into shared business value. Different regions hold different capabilities, customer relationships, and expectations.

The question is how those strengths can contribute to a coherent direction while retaining the knowledge and judgment that make them useful locally.

My contribution

At Vectorform, I contributed to discovery and the design of an innovation operating vision for NTT DATA’s Global Innovation HQ. I helped bring different stakeholder perspectives into a clearer set of choices about strategic value, organizational responsibilities, and the conditions for commercialization.

Our team connected a current-state assessment to a proposed future vision and roadmap. The work examined the relationship between creating an innovation and having a business ready to adopt, deliver, and sustain it.

An accepted set of strategy deliverables: a current-state assessment, a future innovation operating vision, and a roadmap. Enterprise-wide implementation and commercial outcomes were beyond the documented engagement.

The wider implication

Innovation becomes an enterprise capability when strategic intent, local intelligence, and commercial responsibility can reinforce one another. A promising technology is one part of that picture.

The executive question is how to create a system in which ideas can find an appropriate home, attract considered commitment, and become useful beyond their original context.
